PRIOR MEETING MINUTES

Wayne Coin Club
 
Meeting Minutes:  June 1,  2015
 
The meeting came to order at 7:45 p.m.  Gary K. was the presiding officer.   
 
Fifteen members and 2 guests were present. 
 
Ron B, the club treasurer gave a report.  
 
Joyce was welcomed back after a long illness.
 
Gary K. asked for volunteers to purchase coins to be used as prizes for the club.
 
Dan gave an interesting presentation about  how coins were made before 1836.
 
Joyce won $11.00 in the 50/50 drawing.  Various coins were won by other members:    
 
The club discussed plans for the Pizza Party, which will take place at the June 15th meeting.

Meeting Minutes   December 1, 2014
 
The meeting came to order at 7:44 p.m.   John  D. presided  and  19  people attended. 
 
Among the prizes  awarded to the members were: Mercury Dimes,  a mint set,  a  9/11 commemorative coin, Indian head cents, a Liberty half dollar  and  $13.00 in the fifty/fifty drawing. 
 
The club treasurer gave a report.
 
John D  read the rules  for the use of the meeting room at St John's Church.  They demand that the doors must be locked at all times.  John also asked the club members to seek out a new  place for future meetings. 
 
The members shared their experiences at the MSNS Coin show which was held at the  Macomb Community College in Warren, Michigan. 
 
 John D talked about  the plans for the March 1 coin show, which will be given by the Wayne Coin Club.  Tables are available for dealers, and raffle tickets  are  ready for club members to sell. It will be held at the Wayne Park & Recreation Center,  4635 Howe Road, Wayne Michigan.  Show hours are  9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
 
Stan, the club treasurer,  reminded the group about the  Christmas party. on December 15,  Members are welcome to come at 5.30 p.m.  Dinner will be served at  6:00 p.m.  There will be a gift exchange, for numismatic or Christmas gifts (no junk)  valued at $10.00. The event will be held at Amantea's Restaurant,   32777 West Warren Road in Garden city.
 
Also  dues for the following year, will be collected by the club treasurer at the next meeting.

Meeting Minutes   November 17, 2014
 
The meeting came to order at 7:43 p.m.   John  D. ran the meeting and  16  people attended. 
 
Many prizes  won by the members: Mercury Dimes,  a mint set,  war nickels, Indian head cents  and  $12.00 in the fifty/fifty drawing. 
 
John D  read the new rules  for the use of the meeting room at St John's Church. 
 
He spoke about the MSNS Coin show to be held during Thanksgiving weekend at the Macomb Community College in Warren, Michigan.

 John spoke of the plans for the March 1 coin show, which will be given by the Wayne Coin Club.  Tables are available for dealers, and raffle tickets  will be ready for club members to sell.
 
John also welcomed 2 new people into the Wayne Coin Club:    Scott W., an experienced collector who shared the story of how began collecting coins;   and Buster, a junior member who is just starting out.   
 
Next attendees discussed the passing of Tim Wolf, a  Wayne Coin Club member.  They spoke of his joy in finding the perfect coin at auction and the extreme  pleasure he found in  numismatics.    Tim  will be missed.

Meeting Minutes   October  20, 2014
 
The meeting came to order at 7:44 p.m .   John  D. ran the meeting and  17 members  attended. 
 
Many prizes  won by the members:  Kennedy half dollars, a mint set,  war nickels, Indian head cents  and  $13.00 in the fifty/fifty drawing. 
 
 
John D spoke about his efforts to keep the Wayne club going.  John  posted his comments in a letter to the Numismatist.   Also, Mike from MSNS has spoken with John  and has offered to help the club in any way he can. 
 
Next the members welcomed the offer of Ron B to  help the club as treasurer starting in January.  Joyce and Josie offered to take notes at the meetings.  John D will continue his work with the Wayne Club as Bourse Chairman.  Current officers will lead the club until January, 2015.  The coin show will continue  and be held on the first Sunday of March.
 
The date for the Christmas party is December 15,  2014.  Members pay $10.00  and guests pay 20.00.  There will be a gift exchange, for numismatic or Christmas gifts (no junk)  valued at $10.00.
 
The club voted for officers  of MSNS  at the request of  MSNS.  Also, the club renewed its membership in MSNS for one year.
 
The webmaster requested the username and password for use in the  club  meeting place.  He reported over 350 hits on the Wayne  Coin Club's website.  He also stated that  meeting minutes, club history, and upcoming events can be accessed there.  Also, he told of an open invitation to new members to join us and receive a free coin.  To visit our website, go to www.waynecoinclub.org .
 
Dues for the following year will be collected a the next meeting.

Meeting Minutes   October 6, 2014
 
The meeting came to order at 7:49 p.m .   John,  D ran the meeting.
 
Joyce brought cupcakes for all the members. 
 
The treasurer reported on the balance in the clubs account. 
 
Angela Hospice thanked the Wayne Coin Club for their donation in memory of Don Charters. 
 
John D read the Club by- laws concerning the disposition of club property. 
 
Next the  members  discussed various ways to move forward.  Gary K. offered  help through Michigan State Numismatic Society.    An Interim Vice President, Mark, was elected by the membership.  John D stated that he would continue his work with the March coin show as before. 
 
The club must decide by the  first meeting in November  if the March show will take place. 
 
The date for the club Christmas party has been set for   December 15.
 
A decision was made to continue  the discussion at the October 20th  meeting,

Joyce made a motion to donate  $75.00 to a  memorial for Don Charters, who passed away during the summer. 
 
Next, the Club Treasurer explained how we cannot run the club without officers. 
 
He said that the President had to work during the times the meetings  were held. The Vice President was suffering from time issues, and the Club Secretary was working evenings and could not attend the meetings. Also, the club Treasurer would be resigning his office in January.

WCC meeting minutes for Monday March 3, 2014. Meeting began at 7:50 pm with 16 members in attendance. Our 2014 WCC Show went well despite the bad weather. A very special Thank you to all who helped to make our show go so well, without everyone participating our show would not have gone so well :) don won the 50/50. Our Door Prize winners were; David, Doug, Russ and Al. raffle Winners were: Don, David, Joe, Scotty, and Tom. Meeting time ended at 8:16 pm.

WCC meeting minutes for Monday Feb. 3, 2014. Meeting began at 7:47 pm with 19 members in attendance. A motion was made to purchase a World Coin Book for the club library, thank you John. The prizes for our 2014 Coin Show have been purchased, thank you Stan. John and Tom are working to sell the remainder of the tables that are still available for our Coin Show, if you know of any dealers who are interested in getting a table please let John or Tom know. Our door prize winners were: John, Al, Rich, Kathy (2xs), Keith and Gary. Raffle winners were: Bob, David, Cheryl (2xs), Al and Tom. Meeting ended at 8:17 pm.

 

WCC meeting minutes for Monday January 20, 2014. Meeting began at 7:45 with 16 members in attendance. The raffle tickets for our 2014 Coin Show are now available for club members to pick and sell. Please see Stan to get your tickets and sell, sell, sell :) A vote was taken to give everyone a credit for our Jan 6th meeting which was canceled due to frigid temperatures. I have started a food list for our show so if you would like to help out just let me know. Our Coin Show will be Sunday March 2nd at the Wayne Recreational Center. Our Door prize winners were: Keith, Marty, Stan, Don, Gary, Joe and John. Raffle winners were: Joe, Scotty, Tom, Al (2x), Don and Cheryl. Meeting time end at 8:07 pm.

 

 

Meeting minutes for Monday December 2, 2013. Meeting began at 7:45 pm with 15 members in attendance. Stan has been picking up raffle prizes for our 2014 coin show in March. The MSNS Show was November 29th & 30th and December 1, it was well attended. John had flyers made up to pass out at the State Show to advertise our WCC Show in March.  We will have our Christmas dinner at Amanteas on Monday December 16th at 6;30 pm. We will also be doing our gift after the meal. Please come and plan on having a good time. For those of you who may not be coming, I want to wish you all a very Merry Christmas and  a Happy New Year!! Our door prize winners were: Marsha, Mark, Gary, Bob and Scotty. Raffle  Winners were: Al (twice), Ron, Cheryl, Bob and Scotty. Al won our 50/50. Meeting ended at 7:58 pm.

WCC meeting minutes for Monday November 4, 2013, meeting began at 7:50 pm with 16 members in attendance. Our Christmas dinner will be at Amanteas on Monday December 16th at 6:30. We will be having our gift exchange, if you want to participate bring a wrapped gift. Club members will pay $10.00 while non members will pay $19.95. NWDCC show went very well. WCC Show will be Sunday March 2, 2014, 9:30 to 3:30, Stan will be ordering the raffle tickets soon. Gary won the 50/50, Congrats!!! . Our Door Prize winners were; David, Tom, Tim, Al and Scotty. Raffle Winners were; Scotty twice, Cheryl, Bob and Al.

WCC meeting minutes for Monday October 7, 2013, meeting began at 7:47 pm with 17 members in attendance. Rich will continue to update our website with any new info as it is made available to him. Our Christmas dinner will be held at Amanteas  on Monday December 16, 2013 at 6:30. Our 2014 WCC Coin Show will be Sunday March 2nd. Our table rental for this show will be $60.00 a table, $55.00 for WCC members.  We will also be doing our white elephant gift exchange at our Christmas dinner ( a price limit of $10.00 for a gift ). Tom won our 50/50 :) our door prize winners were: Russ, Josie, Gary and Keith. Our raffle winners were: Scotty, Josie, Cheryl, Gary and Keith. Meeting time end at 8:25 pm.

   

 

 

 WCC meeting minutes for September 16, 2013. Meeting began at 7:45 pm with 15 members in attendance. A reminder was made that we will start back to two meeting per month in October. Stan has continued to purchase raffle prizes for our 2014 coin show. The date for our 2014 Coin Show is Sunday March 2nd, from 9am to 3pm at the Wayne Recreational Center in Wayne Mi. NWDCC is having their Coin Show on Sunday November 3, 2013. To help support the NWDCC we ask that you either purchase some of their raffle tickets or sell them. You can get books of them from Don Charters, so please help support them by doing this. There is also a coin show in Ann Arbor on Sunday September 29th  . Joe brought in a Confederate Book and bill to show us, it was very interesting, thanks Joe. Meeting time ended at 7:58 pm. Congrats to Stan who won the 50/50. Door prize winners were: Tim, Josie, David, and Bob. Raffle winners were: Keith ( twice), Gary ( twice), Ron and Don. Next meeting will be Monday October 7th at 7:30 pm. 

 

 

 

 WCC Meeting minutes for Monday August 19, 2013. Meeting began at 7:45 with 14 members in attendance. Our next meeting which will be Monday September 16th, we will be discussing our website. Please bring any and all info or pictures you may have regarding the history of the WCC, we will be updating our website.  Ron gave a report on the Chicago trip to the ANA. Al passed around a passport book he had purchased at the ANA show in Chicago. Congrats to Stan who won are 50/50 :) Our door prize winners were; Al, David, Bob, Stan and Scotty. Raffle Winners were Cheryl ( 3 Times), Al, David, and Keith :) Meeting time ended at 8:07 :)

 

WCC meeting for minutes for Monday July 15, 2013. Meeting was brought to order at 7:40 pm with 13 members in attendance. Our treasurer reported. We welcomed back Scotty and will continue keeping him and his family in our thoughts and prayers. ATTENTION MEMBERS: we need you to submit any background info you may have concerning our clubs history to add to our website. A special thank you to Rich and Josie, who joined our club last month, for their fine work on our website :) Our 50/50 winner was Don, congrats Don! Meeting time ended at 8:02 pm. Our Door Prize winners were: Stan, Don, Cheryl, Josie and Al. Raffle winners were: Scotty, Gary (2), Stan, and Josie (2). Our next meeting will be Monday August 19 at 7pm.
